Part 2 of the Quinton Flynn interview is up!
Friday, October 10, 2008 | Filed under Interviews, Updates

Part 2 of the Quinton Flynn interview is up. It’s awesome. You should listen to it. No sharp or snappy lines here. I’m tired. Going to bed!

Oh, but I will say this:

I DID get the second part up on Quinton’s birthday like I planned! HAHAHA. Happy birthday, Q!

I can has a Quinton Flynn intervue?!?!
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 | Filed under Updates

Yes. Yes, you can.

After about seven months of chasing down the elusive but brilliant human being that we call Quinton Flynn, I finally backed him into a corner on Tuesday and picked his brain for nearly an hour. It was magical, he was fantastic, and I kept most of my fangirl spasms to myself. HA! Take that 13-year-old girl trapped inside of me that squeals everytime she hears “Got it memorized?”! Calmness and sanity prevails…for the first time ever.

I’m pretty sure it goes without saying that Quinton was completely cool and awesome AND one of the most charming mofos I’ve ever met. Every self-depreciating thing I jokingly said about myself (because, that’s kind of just my humor) he had a quick reply to turn it around. The interview should be posted in a couple of days and I think I’m going to make it a two parter. It’s chalked so full of goodness that it ran a little over my usual 30 minute mark and even after I clean it up of all our goofiness and randomness, I have a feeling it’s still going to. But, again, the interview is dynamite and maybe in the future, I’ll post the whole thing in it’s unedited glory.

And JUST a reminder, be sure to check our good friend Quinton Flynn and our future good friend Jeff Nimoy (who is related to Leonard Nimoy in case you’re wondering) in Adventures In Anime, a brilliant web series that seamlessly combines all the unscripted quirkiness of a documentary and great laughs of a solid sketch comedy. If you think it SOUNDS awesome just wait until you SEE it!

That’s the only anime smilie I know. Sorry.

We love our friends at PRCM!
Saturday, August 2, 2008 | Filed under News, Updates

We here at The Back Room love lots of things. Puppies, superhereos, Canada based teen soap operas…but there are few things in life we love more than our good friends at Pop-Rock Candy Mountain, the only other site you need to be visiting when you’re not at ours.

Check out their podcast, The Pop-Rock Candy Mountain Show  featuring two of my favorite people in the world Hal Sparks and Michael Ian Black. They also have a brand spanking new interview with my future husband, Chris Hardwick.

A special thanks to Jeff and Amanda over at PRCM for helping us out so much! You are our heroes and we love ya illegal amounts!

David Hayter interview is up!
Saturday, July 26, 2008 | Filed under Interviews, Updates

I’m a fan of a lot of people. I mean, a lot of people. As matter of fact, I consider myself a professional fan. But, as many people as I’m a fan of, there are fewer people who I support to no end, fewer that have inspired me, even fewer than that who have changed my life…and only one who falls into all of those categories. And that’s David Hayter.

This is me, Amanda Mack, circa early 2005. I took this picture the day I recieved Guyver 2: Dark Hero in the mail, courtesy of a special order via my local Barnes & Noble. For years, I’ve half jokingly, half very seriously said about this picture that it’s the closest I’d ever get to David.

Well, even I can be wrong.

I think the most amazing thing about interviewing my idol was essentially not feeling like I was interviewing my idol. I could gush for days and paragraphs more about how great he was to speak with but, I think you’d appreciate just hearing it for yourself a little more.

Me interviewing David Hayter. One on one. Oh, my.

Kept you waiting, huh?
Thursday, July 24, 2008 | Filed under News, Updates

Things here at The Back Room continue to get more amazing with every passing day. I know the updates and whatnot have been a little scarce but I promise you, when you see everything we have in store for you, you’re going to be very thankful for that wait. We’re using the element of surprise here, like a Snake in the grass waiting to attack you with something most awesome and amazing. :)

Beautiful things are happening…some of which I don’t even want to talk about right now BUT will be out soon! Stay tuned!
